As I embark on this write of passage (that it seems all parents do now) of starting a family blog. I'm hesitant and curious of what to expect. I've always told my children, “Don't worry what other people think about you!” Leave it to my kid to help me learn a life lesson. Mikayla's witty reply at the ripe ol' age of 6 was, “you tell me not to worry about what others think, but you then tell me to always think about how my actions make others feel?!” Umm..Mommy will answer after consulting with my references and reinforcements! LOL
During the course of my parenting “career” I've come to realize that its when we don't care what others think we loose out on some valuable information! Can't begin to count the times I've asked some of the best self declared experts in the field for what they think on the current situation going down in the Peeler household. My telephone or email correspondence typically sound more like a confessional or a S.O.S. Disclosing my good and bad mom moments, deployed wife uh O's that if ever intercepted by the untrained ear could result in call to authorities I'm sure! The conversation always tends to end with a “well, what do you think?” It's nice sometimes to know that I'm not alone! 'It takes a village....Learn something new every day!' Just a few more for ya.
Maybe 'don't care what other people think' really means 'don't care what your enemies think?' That leads me into another saying 'Keep your friends close and your enemies closer' (Who ever said this was on a self torture mission headed towards total mental destruction!) My hesitation in blogging is starting to fade with the belief that I have eliminated my enemies by only adding my close family and friends. I'm curious to see what y'all think?! Thanks for taking the time to read my soapbox. In closing I leave you with my favorite quote:
{“Love your neighbor as yourself"- Leviticus 19:18-NJPS}
